Questions and Concerns:
These are questions commonly asked. If you see something that isn't here, just email me!
*Will you sell me a puppy?*
~*~I reserve the right to refuse to sell one of my puppies to anyone. I only sell my babies to homes where they will be well cared for family members with forever homes. I do not sell any of my babies to someone who will put them in a kennel. I care about them too much to turn them over to that type of life. For breeders/show, I will sell a puppy to a breeder who is caring, conscientious, and ethical, whose breeding program I approve of. They must keep the puppy in their home and the puppy must get attention and be a loved family member, a pet first and foremost, not just a money maker living in a kennel. I am very selective about whom I sell my puppies to and will ask alot of questions, I have had people try to lie to me before but I did my research and found out the truth so please just be honest! If you are going to give one of my babies a great home then you have nothing to worry about! :) If you are interested in one of my babies or being placed on the list for a future puppy, you can

*Why do you ask so many questions?*
~*~I realize my application has alot of questions but I dearly love each and every one of my babies and by finding out alot about their new owners I can feel certain they are going to a home where they will be well loved and taken care of.
*Do you have cheaper or free chihuahuas?*
~*~I do rescue, taking in chihuahuas that people can no longer take care of and finding them homes and these chihuahuas can be adopted out for a very low cost of spaying/neutering. They are usually adults. A special rescue section is on the webpage which will tell if we ever have any older dogs like this.
*What do you feed your chihuahuas?*
~*~I feed them Fromm dog food. It is a wonderful food, made with only human grade ingredients with no byproducts or corn. If you are interested in learning about Fromm you can visit their website at http://frommfamily.com. All of my puppies are started out on the puppy food softened. I also give my mothers and puppies a little of the canned food to give them some extra nutrition when they are pregnant and nursing or are puppies.
Before switching to Fromm we were feeding Innova which is a wonderful food also, the Fromm is just more convenient in location. Innova also contains no byproducts and only human grade ingredients. You can visit the website for it by going to www.naturapet.com. Some other good food brands are Wellness, Solid Gold, and Merrick. When picking out a food for your chi read the ingredients to make sure the first ingredient is a meat, that there are no byproducts, and that corn isn't used as a filler. You should also check your labels to see that the food is made with human grade ingredients only.
*Are your dogs registered?*
~*~Yes they are AKC (American Kennel Club) registered.~*~
*Do chihuahuas do well with children?*
~*~Chihuahuas can be great pets for children. They are very small dogs so you have to take alot of extra care in teaching them how to handle them and be gentle. A good rule with a chihuahua and kids is to let them hold them only while they are sitting on the floor so there isn't the chance of dropping them. They are very good family pets, I raised my two daughters with chi's and they did very well with them. Many people get a chihuahua to be around children with asthma as they are rumoured to help it. If you have very small children the best option would be not to get a very tiny chihuahua but an average to larger sized one.
*Do you have "Teacups"?*
~*~There is no such thing as a teacup. There is only one breed of chihuahua and two varieties, longhair and shorthair. Chihuahuas are just like people and can come in different shapes and sizes. The breed standard calls for a dog under 6 pounds. I have puppies which are larger, 6 pounds, some that are average, 4-5 pounds, and a few that are tiny, under 4 pounds. There is nothing to say that a smaller chihuahua is not healthy, for a perfect example you can see Cosette and Stella, they weigh in at just under 3 pounds and 2 pounds, and are perfectly healthy entergetic girls. Tiny chis are within the breed standard so they do come up. I had a little brindle girl several years back who was 1.7 pounds grown and she lived a long healthy life. My puppies are well bred and well taken care of so no matter the size, they are healthy, happy babies.
The teacup word is just a phrase made up by people though. I have heard many of these things over the years, people have asked me if I have the different kinds of chihuahuas including miniature, teacup, deer, etc. There is only one breed, chihuahuas and I love them all!
*Do you breed the "rare blue merles"?*
~*~No, I do not breed for the blue merles and do not plan on it. I think they are beautiful, just as all chis are but there are too many genetic problems that can happen with them. When you breed a blue merle, it may not show up in their phenotype but they still carry the gene for it and when bred to a merle or other hidden merle you can have puppies with blindness, deafness, and even puppies born with no eyes. I do not want to take the chance of putting these problems into my line.
*Do you raise any other breeds?*
~*~No, I do not breed anything other than chihuahuas. I believe that to produce the best possible dogs, one needs to concentrate soley on one breed rather than several.
*Do you have a contract*
~*~I do have a contract anyone who takes one of my babies must agree to and sign. If you would like to see a copy, just ask and I will email you one. The major terms of my contract are that the buyer must agree to care for the puppy (vet expenses, good food, kept indoors), must give me the first chance to take the puppy back if they can no longer keep it, that under no circumstances is the puppy to be turned over to a labratory, rescue, shelter, or puppymill, that they must keep in contact with me. My terms are that the puppy recieves lifetime breeder support, details the health guarantee, and includes health records, feeding instructions, and issues that can occur in the breed.
*Do you ship your chihuahuas?*
~*~No, I do not ship my puppies. I do however, drive to meet people who want a puppy.
*Do you deliver puppies/Will you meet me at X?*
This is the preferred method to shipping, when possible. I will drive up to 600 miles one way to meet you or bring your puppy to your home. This is safe and easier on puppies.
Prices for driving delivery
Up to 300 Miles: $175.00
Up to 600 Miles: $250.00
*When will you have new puppies/Do you have any puppies available?*
~*~Check the Puppies page to see.
*What is the price of your puppies?*
~*~The price of my puppies usually starts at $400. When the puppies leave my home they have their up to date puppy shots, and wormings, vet check, health certificate, and a limited health guarantee. I occasionally have lower priced babies though.
*Where do your chihuahuas live?*
~*~All of my chihuahuas live in the house with the rest of the family. I would never have them live in a kennel or outside. Chihuahuas are a small dog, they are not meant to live outside in the weather. I do not believe in having so many you would have them live in a kennel, that is a horrible life for them.
Ours are first and foremost pets. They live in the house, and have a patio door that opens into a fenced in area where they can come and go in the daytime when they please. They enjoy tv with us at night, the couch is their favorite place to be. They sleep in their own beds or with us at night.
When it is time for the Mother's to have their babies they go in a baby playpen in my bedroom, so that they can have privacy. I will not sell any of my puppies to a kennel or someone who is going to have them live outside either.
